Christiane Moon
Piano Teacher
Christiane Moon is a classically trained pianist with a love for teaching. Through patience and dedication, she believes that every student can succeed.
Ms. Moon is an Active Member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) San Fernando West Valley Branch. This gives Christiane’s students the opportunity to perform in annual Certificate of Merit evaluations. These statewide evaluations are based on an 11-level system. Each year students are evaluated on music theory, sight reading, technique, ear-training, and repertoire. Christiane received her Master of Music in Piano Performance, with an emphasis in Pedagogy, from California State University, Northridge, and her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music at Chapman University. Ms. Moon performs a wide range of repertoire and is well trained in music theory. She has participated in numerous performances, competitions, and master classes. Some of her most recent performances include solo works in the MTAC Contemporary Theme Festival where she was awarded first place in 2015. Ms. Moon has also been a silver medal winner in the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) Contemporary Music Festival, CAPMT Honors Auditions, and MTAC Classical Theme Festival. Christiane’s goal is for her students to develop a lifelong love of music. To have them think not just about the notes, but about the beautiful music they are capable of creating. She hopes to inspire her students and guide them on their musical journey. |
