Cooper is a regular performer and teacher around the Sacramento and Los Angeles area. As an arranger and composer Cooper works for several groups, including his own quintet and Tenor Explosion, which he co-founded.
Cooper received his education at Cal State University, Northridge where he earned a Bachelor of Music in jazz performance. Cooper then attended the prestigious University of North Texas jazz program where he received his masters degree in Jazz Studies. His time at CSUN and UNT has given him the opportunity to study with Rob Lockart, Brad Leali, Gary Pratt and Matt Harris Cooper joined Nueva Vision Community School in summer 2019 and is excited to continue to teach Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute to more students. |
